Class 4] A model glider or aeroplane comprises a shaped stiff member 1 of cardboard or other material having slits 8, 20 to receive the main and tail planes, hinged flaps 2 with slits 5 being provided near the forward end to engage the leading edges of the wings and hold them at a dihedral angle. The flaps 2 form part of a stiffening and weighting member 25 glued to the front end of the member 1 and formed as a single part folded along its upper edge 27. A downwardly projecting edge 28 of the member 25 serves as an abutment for a launching catapult. The main and tail planes are notched at their rear edges to interlock with the rear ends of the slits 8, 20 and the leading edge of the main plane is notched to engage the forward ends of the slits 5. The leading edge of the main plane may be folded back on itself to strengthen it, the folded part having end tabs engaging slits in the plane, and to accommodate the thickned part, the forward end of the slit 8 may be enlarged by cutting a slit 17 and bending the material about a line 18. Parts to serve as elevators and ailerons may be formed by slitting the tail and main planes and scoring lines to serve as a stiff hinges. The model may be fitted with a propeller driven by twisted elastic or a light spring.
