551,300. Folding seats. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. July 15, 1942, No. 9853. Convention date, June 7, 1941. [Class 52 (v)] A folding seat for a motor vehicle comprises a seat frame 39 mounted on pivots 43 on the sides of the vehicle and having rearward upwardly-extending portions 40 pivotally connected to downwardly and forwardly directed portions 42 of a back frame 38 guided by a fork 48. When the seat is raised, the back frame automatically moves down and rearwardly to the position indicated by broken lines thereby leaving the interior of the vehicle as unimpeded as possible.
