Abstract

550,876. Centrifugal separators. ADAM, L. G. (Vaudin, A. H.). July 30, 1941, No. 9717. [Class 23] The basket of a centrifugal separator is made up of a number of superposed metal rings A adjustably clamped together by thrust screws H secured in flanges at the end of standards I attached to the hub extension C. The rings taper inwards so that V-shaped straining channels are formed between them. Tie screws may be used instead of the thrust screws H and the rings may be corrugated or fluted; they may also be made as split rings or made in sections. A light perforated cylindrical shell J encloses the basket.
