[Class 44] In a hose-clip of the kind in which a reinforced out-turned end of the band is engaged by the shouldered end of a screw working through a nut carried by a link to which the other end of the band is connected the outturned portion is formed by folding the band a, at a short distance from one end, about a perforated reinforcing washer b, and then punching the material of the band to form burrs a<1> entering the perforation in the washer and preferably meeting therein as in Fig. 2. Where the band is to be passed twice round the pipe, sleeve f is omitted and a preliminary adjustment is effected by placing the layers of band side by side round the pipe. The clip is then removed and reapplied with the layers overlying, by passing the reinforced end through the link before engaging it with screw e.
