Abstract
550,466. Braces and sock-suspenders. EATON F., and EARLAM, W. Nov. 24, 1941, Nos. 15089/41 and 2015/42. [Class 141] The shoulder straps A, Fig. 1, of a pair of braces and the leg-encircling band F, Fig. 11, of a sock-suspender are made from strips of multi-ply woven fabric the edges of which are bound or piped, as shown at a, f, to prevent fraying. In the cases of braces, the ends of the straps are turned up, and sewn to the main straps at intervals to form loops a<SP>2</SP> through which the tab ends D are passed; alternatively, or additionally, separate strips may be similarly sewn to the ends of the straps. The tab ends may be formed of woven fabric piped at its edges, or of flattened braided material. The sock suspender comprises long and short straps f<SP>1</SP>, f and a depending tab G, and is fastened round the leg by the engagement of a hook f<SP>4</SP> or a stud with one or other of eyelets f<SP>3</SP> or buttonholes. Masking strips of material cover the fastening elements.
