[Class 70] [Also in Groups VIII and XVII] An adhesive for use in a closure cap for a container comprises as principal constituents, a resin, a wax and rubber. The resin is preferably Nevillite No. 3," a cumar-indene resin. It may be mixed with other resins, e.g. those marketed under the Registered Trade Marks " Vistanex" and " Aroclor." The wax is of an amorphous or micro-crystalline paraffinic character and has a melting point of about 185‹F. Crepe or reclaim rubber may be used, 350 grams of crepe rubber may be broken down in a mill and 75 grams Ivorylite (reclaim) milled into it, 75 grams pale yellow wax are then milled in, the mixture is dissolved in four quarts of "Rubber-sol," a hydrocarbon non- polar solvent, 1165 grams " Nevillite " are also dissolved in four quarts " Rubber-sol " and the two solutions are mixed. "Vistanex" may be substituted for either of the rubbers, and " Galax " or " Piccolyte " for the " Nevillite." Benzo-sol " with a quart of " Varnoline " may be substituted for the " Rubber-sol." The adhesive has a tacking point between about 160‹F. and above 170‹F.
