Abstract
245,313. Rogers, F. H., (Fuchs & Co., Dr.). March 20, 1925. Plastic compositions containing balata, waxes, etc.; sealing-wax; capsuling compositions. - A composition suitable for use as a sealing-wax, insulating or impregnating composition, capsuling composition, a composition for making artificial flowers, &c., and, in solution, as a varnish, consists of the following ingredients, preferably in the proportions stated; 30 parts of balata, 5 parts of gutta percha with 2 per cent. of caoulchouc added, 4 parts of wood tar- or resin-oil, 12 parts of yellow canauba wax, 42 parts of bleached bees wax, 3 parts of copal resin, 3 parts of organic colouring matter, and 1 part of aluminium palmitate, melted together with exclusion of air at about 150‹ C. The guttapercha, caoutchouc and copal resin may be omitted.
