Abstract

549,137. Grinding-machines. CHURCHILL MACHINE TOOL CO., Ltd., and ASBRIDGE, H. H. Sept. 12, 1941, No. 11712. [Class 60] A wheel balance testing fixture is arranged upon and as an integral part of the bed of a grinding machine and is so positioned that the operator can readily check the balance of the grinding wheel without leaving the machine. The device comprises a U-shaped frame a, Figs. 1 and 2, bolted to prepared faces b on the machine and having edges c, d which can be set horizontal by screws e and a spirit level f, the balance of the grinding wheel g being checked by mounting on an arbor h and rolling on the edges c, d. Alternatively the arbor h may be mounted in the angle between pairs of rollers.
