Abstract

562,355. Grinding apparatus. IMPREGNATED DIAMOND PRODUCTS, Ltd., and FEFER, G. Feb. 22, 1943, No. 2921. [Class 60] A bench grinder for tungsten carbide tools comprises a tray on which is supported a motor driving both a grinding wheel and a pump for circulating coolant from the tray to the wheel ; a tiltable work rest is provided and the wheel is covered by an adjustable splash guard. The motor shaft 4 carries the grinding wheel 6 at one end and a cam 8 at the other for driving a telescopic pump 9 which forces coolant through the pipe 14. The guard 26 is secured by screws passing through slots therein, whereby its position can be adjusted, and the work rest 18 is carried on pivots 19 and its inclination, which can be read on a scale 25, adjusted by a set-screw.
