548,869. Chain wheels; toothed gearing. NORTHERN PATENT DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd., and BARTLETT, B. G. W. March 26, 1941, No. 4071. [Class 80 (i)] An annular floating toothed gear having internal teeth and either external teeth or a friction surface, formed in parts and having the internal teeth shrouded to their pitch circle, is characterized in that the outer teeth are formed on an outer annulus and the internal teeth on an inner annulus, the contacting surfaces between the two annuli being tapered and secured together by rivets, bolts or the like. The teeth a, Fig. 2, are formed on the annulus e and the teeth c on an annulus f the latter teeth being shrouded at d. The contacting surfaces g, h are tapered and the annuli are secured together by rivets i. In a modification Fig. 3, the annulus e is stepped to form a shoulder against which the annulus f abuts. The teeth are integral with annulus f one shroud d being on the inner and the other d<SP>1</SP> on the outer annulus. In a further modification, both shrouds are formed on the inner annulus.
