548,729. Photographic objectives. TAYLOR, TAYLOR & HOBSON, Ltd., and WARMISHAM, A. Feb. 20, 1941, No. 2301. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] In objectives comprising reflecting surfaces supplying the optical power and at least one refracting correcting plate, each reflecting surface is a metallic or metallized surface, and each refracting element is transparent over a spectral range extending considerably beyond the visible spectrum. Aluminium or silver may be used for the reflecting surfaces, and vitreous quartz, or crystalline potassium chloride or magnesium oxide (#-Mg0) may form the refractive material. Internally reflecting surfaces may be formed on opposite faces of a single quartz &c. plate. Data for three examples, modifications of examples given in Specifications 541,650, 541,652 and 548,384 are set out. Specification 541,651 also is referred to.
