547,687. Spring suspensions for perambulators &c. ASHTON BROS. & PHILLIPS, Ltd., and ASHTON, W. E. April 16, 1941, No. 4943. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii)] A spring suspension system comprises an undercarriage frame consisting of transverse members or axles a spaced apart by longitudinal thrust-carrying members h, substantially straight laminated springs, b anchored at their ends to the undercarriage and relatively rigid brackets f secured to the springs at points intermediate of their ends, the body being carried by the brackets. In the construction shown the springs comprise metal strips b with intervening strips c of leather, rubberised fabric, webbing, fibre, or other flexible packing material. Alternatively a single metal strip with one or two leather strips may be used. The spring strips rae sec red together by rivets d and to the axles a by fastenings e. The reach rods h are pivoted on the axles. The brackets f may be C-shaped, as shown, or Z-shaped.
