Abstract
584,230. Road vehicles. MARJERAM, A. E. Dec. 18, 1944, No. 25423. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] The driver's cab, on a platform vehicle, is placed at a low level in relation to the front section of the loading platform which passes over the top of the cab whereby in a military vehicle affording lateral protection to the driver and crew. The main chassis frames a, Fig. 1, and sub-frames b are connected by depending frames c and transverse frames d, Fig. 2, to form a box-section chassis, the front portion' of which forms the driver's cab over which the front section e of the platform o extends. The front wheel suspension comprises stub axles k pivoted to vertical rods h sliding in guides j secured to the frame members c. The rods h are connected to the ends of a laminated spring f. secured to the main frame a by brackets and spring bar g.
