547,285. Television. GES. ZUR FORDERUNG DER FORSCHUNG AUF DEM GEBIETE DER TECHNISCHEN PHYSIK AN DER EIDGENOSSISCHEN TECHNISCHEN HOCHSCHULE. Sept. 13, 1939, No. 25742. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1938. [Class 40 (iii)] Relates to means for transmitting, say, 25 television pictures per second from a cinema film running at the rate of, say, 24 frames per second. This is effected by projecting apparatus, such as a mirror drum 7, arranged between the moving film 16 and the line scanning mechanism not shown in the figure. The drum 7 is driven through a differential 3, 4 by a motor 1 at a speed determined by the difference in speed of the motor 1 and the motor 19 driving the film. If it is desired to transmit 25 pictures per second from a film running at 24 frames per second, the speed of the drum 7 is such that one mirror will be turned through the ray path in one second. The arrangement also keeps the number of pictures transmitted per second constant if the film speed fluctuates.
