Abstract
547,056. Lubricating systems. WORT, W. E. June 30, 1941, No. 8220. [Class 12 (iii)] Lubricant is fed to a steam or other pressure line by a piston the opposite side of which is under the line pressure applied directly or indirectly, means such as a differential arrangement of the piston being provided for obtaining a pressure difference on opposite sides of the piston and the steam pressure in pipe 7 acting through pipe 8 upon water in a container 9 and so upon piston 1 in the lubricant cylinder 2. The piston-rod 4 is of sufficient size to enable the pressure on that side to force oil through pipe 11. When valves 10, 13 are closed and valve 15 and exhaust 10a are open, the cylinder is replenished with oil from tank 14. Piston rod 4 may be coupled to a second piston and cylinder with similar connections to pipe 7 and tank 14 so that the steam pressure is used to move the pistons in both directions.
