545,582. Coating fabrics. BRITISH RUBBER PRODUCERS' RESEARCH ASSOCIATION, BLOW, C. M., and BURGESS, G. C. Jan. 6, 1941. No. 166. [Class 140] Elastic fabric for bandages, plasters and the like is rendered water-repellent and of low water absorption by treating the yarn and/or the finished fabric with a positively charged latex prepared as described in Specification 497,793, [Group V], and with a substance imparting water-repellency to the fabric, such as paraffin wax or the substance known under the Registered Trade Mark "Velan." The latex is, preferably; pre-vulcanized, contains an anti-oxidant. A pigment may be added.
