Abstract

A vulcanizable natural or synthetic rubber composition has incorporated therein a 1-aza-3,7-dioxabicyclo-[3.3.0] octane <FORM:1032055/C3/1> wherein R is H, alkyl or alkylol, and a condensation product of resorcinol with a ketone a C2- 4 alkylaldehyde or benzaldehyde. The additives improve adhesion of the rubber to textile fabrics when vulcanized and may be incorporated only at the interface of fabric and rubber to be laminated prior to vulcanization. The rubber may contain 0.5 to 8 weight per cent of the combined additives mixed in the proportions of 0.3 to 2 parts octane per part of condensate.
