Abstract
545,378. Asymmetrically-conducting resistances. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). Sept. 4, 1941, No. 11339. [Class 37] A rectifying cell 15, 151, 15<11>, for example with aluminium base, selenium layer, blocking layer and counterelectrode, is wedged into a cavity, with sides preferably slightly coned, in a cooling plate 16, 16<1>, 16<11>. The selenium and other layers have their edges stepped inward from the aluminium to avoid accidental contact. The assembly may be supported on insulating rods 17 passing through apertures in the plates with upstanding rims 7. Each counter electrode is electrically connected to the cooling plate of the adjacent element.
