Abstract

544,683. Feeding tickets, flat strips &c. from stacks. WEBER, G. E., and SAWYER, J. Nov. 14, 1940, No. 16481. [Class 117] [Also in Group XIX] Tickets, flat strips &c. 14, Fig. 1, are stacked in a container 12 open at top or bottom and rest on a base 11 provided with a projection formed by a plate 18 of a thickness somewhat less than the thickness of the tickets &c. The tickets &c. are delivered through an opening in the front wall of the container by reciprocating it to and fro by means of the knob 17. The delivery opening is appreciably wider than the thickness of the tickets, and is occupied by a flexible wiper which may consist of bristles 23. The movement of the container is guided and limited by pins 19 engaging grooves in the base or by extensions on its side walls engaging slots 16 on the base, which may be cut away at the front to permit the tickets to be easily picked up. In the power driven machine shown in Fig. 5, the stack container 12, with the delivery opening covered with bristles 23, is repiprocated over the feed plate 18 by the crank disc 41 and connecting rod 42, The strips 45 are delivered on a table 46 and are conveyed in succession thereon by projection 37 on a belt 34 driven in synchronism with the movements of the stack, which has a cross member 28 sliding in guides 29.
