Contents, delivering. -In a box for gramophone needles &c. comprising two casing members 1, 2 movable relativelv to one another to deliver a needle and in which the casing member 2 carries the magazine 4 for the needles which are acted upon by a. feeder 5 to move them towards the delivery place 10 and in which the casing member 1 carries the needle ejector 8, manually or automatically operated actuating means are provided for causing the needles to come into position for ejection and prevent jamming. As shown an elbow lever 11 pivoted in the magazine forms the actuating means, the lever having a projection 13 which is acted upon by cam surface 14 on the member 1 as the casing members are moved together to move the free end of the lever through an opening in the wall of the magazine and engage the needles to prevent them jamming; the feeder 5 is acted upon bv springs 6. In another form the needles are fed towards the delivering place by a rubber cord which embraces the needles and an actuating slide which is reciprocated by an elbow lever pivoted in the magazine as the casing members are moved together, moves a detent between the needles. In a further form in which the needle are fed by a rubber cord, one wall of the magazine or a portion of it is movable and carries a cam surface which engages a fixed rod as the members 1, 2 are moved together and causes the wall to move and prevent jamming of the needles; the wall may be manually-actuated and the bottom of the magazine may move therewith so as not to wear the points of the needles. The magazine may be provided with a partition forming a chamber for used needles which are inserted through a slot in the top of the box.
