542,751. Preventing and removing incrustation. BANNISTER, H. W., GERRARD, W. F., and LIVERPOOL BORAX CO., Ltd. March 14, 1941. No. 3462. [Class 123 (i)] Boiler scale is prevented and removed by the addition of magnesium oxide to the boiler in quantity sufficient or more than sufficient to react with calcium and magnesium bicarbonates, calcium sulphate sodium bicarbonate, and silica, in the water, and with the silica content of the scale already formed. Specification 527,153, [Group I], is referred to.
