Abstract
542,717. Endless track vehicles. SEILER, K. Nov. 28, 1940, No. 17017. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1939. [Class 79 (i)] The side walls 1, 2 of the track frames of an endless track vehicle are secured together at their upper parts by hollow stay bolts 3, and are provided, adjacent the guideways 8, 9 for the track rollers 10, with openings 12, 13, 14 having closure members, the openings 13 being spaced correspondingly with the interval between the track rollers so that a number can be lubricated at one setting of the track. The lower inner cover plate 4 between the side walls 1, 2 is provided with movable flaps 16 for inspection of the track. The opening 14 is closed by a plate 15 provided with sections of the guideways 8, 9, so that when this plate is removed links of the track can be removed and inserted and the track itself can be inserted through the opening. The stay bolts 5 are sufficiently far apart to permit dirt &c. to fall through. A seat 19 or other structure may be readily mounted by means of the stay bolts. In the case of a seat its supports 18 are slotted at the ends to pass over bolts 17 passed through the hollow stay bolts as shown. The side walls 1, 2 are further secured together by tubes 5 through which pass tubes 6 connecting together the two track frames.
