373,498. Vehicle bodies. METROPOLITAN-CAMMELL CARRIAGE, WAGON & FINANCE CO., Ltd. and RAYER, F. H., Metropolitan Road, Saltley, Birmingham. Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23521. [Classes 103 (iv) and 108 (i).] A pillar for road vehicles such as omnibuses, coaches, &c. comprises two complementary parts detachably secured together as by bolts j. The pillar has flanges a to which preferably the inner steel panelling g is riveted while a wood fillet f is arranged in a channel in the pillar and to which the light external panelling e is secured. The panelling, window fittings, &c. are preferably arranged as units bordered by one of the portions of the pillars the adjacent units being secured together by connecting the portions of the pillars by means of bolts j. In the event of damage to one of the units it may readily be removed and replaced.
