Abstract

365,863. Road vehicle hoods. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES., Untert³rkheim, Stuttgart, Germany. March 12, 1931, No. 7622. Convention date, March 14, 1930. [Class 108 (i).] In hoods having hoops provided with spring rollers adapted to run in side guides, the springs of the rollers'are arranged in such a, manner that the hoops are carried by these springs and shocks impinging on the vehicle from below are consequently transmitted to the hood. Each hoop-stick is formed integrally with one part b of the guiding carriage and is provided with two pairs of rollers g adapted to bear on the undersides of the upper flanges of the guiding rail a. The other part d of the carriage is provided with a shank e fitting into the part b and a spring f is interposed causing a pair of rollers h to bear upon the base of the rail a. Connecting links i between the hoop-sticks are provided and the hoop-sticks are operated by a chain l.
