Abstract

542,103. Multi - position rotary switches. VAPOR CAR HEATING CO., Inc. Oct. 15,1940, No. 15307. Convention date, Oct. 19, 1939. [Class 38 (v)] A shaft 39, rotatable by hand into a number of different positions, carries a series of cams, arranged one below the other and each co-operating with a plunger 57, 56 of a switch, the switches being arranged round the shaft in groups. e.g. four groups of three, and the groups being staggered longitudinally of the shaft. The shaft is held in each position by a spring-pressed roller engaging a series of depressions on a plate mounted on the shaft. Each plunger 57, 56 is movable by the cam against a spring 69 so as to bring a contactmember 73, 74 into bridging engagement with contacts 61, 62.
