[Class 98 (i)] In a camera with a setting-type shutter, having a part which moves in opposite directions respectively on setting and on releasing the shutter, a contact, in a flash-lamp circuit is movable with the said part in both directions along the same path, and during release of the shutter engages a second contact to ignite the lamp, means being provided to prevent engagement of the contacts during setting of the shutter. As shown, the following plate 6 of a shutter of the kind described in Specification 534,063 carries a contact 7 which upon release of the shutter moves in the direction of the arrow R, Fig. 3, and engages one face of an elongated part 12 which is inclined to the path of the contact 7 and is carried by a resilient part 13 of a contact member 9 secured to but insulated from, the camera body, During the setting movement the contact 7 moves in the direction of the arrow S and engages the other face of the part 12, which is covered with insulation 14. Connection to the flash-lamp circuit is made by a plug, the body of which screws into the camera and so 'forms a connection to the contact 7, whilst a central post contacts with a terminal connected to the contact member 9.
