Abstract
1,252,450. Photographic apparatus. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Dec.6, 1968 [Dec.8, 1967], No.58027/68. Headings G2A and G2E. Photographic apparatus comprises an electrical circuit having two contacts for a battery cell, relative movement between the cell and at least one of the contacts for cleaning purposes, being provided by a first member responsive to the insertion into the apparatus of a second member. As applied to flashlight photography (Fig.1), insertion of a bulb 12 into a socket 11 depresses a pin 14 which moves a cell 15 relative to its contacts 16, 17. The cell 15 is returned, on removal of the bulb by springs 18, 19. Similar provision may be made for a flash-cube 12<SP>1</SP> Fig. 2 (not shown). As applied to cinematography, Fig.3, insertion of a magazine 51 into a chamber 50 depresses resilient members 34, 35 and 44, 45 which move resilient contacts 31, 32 and 41, 42 relative to cells 33 and 43, respectively. Removal of the magazine 51 allows return of the contacts through their resilience. The cell 33 may be incorporated, for example, in an exposure-control circuit, while the cell 43 may be incorporated in a camera-drivemotor circuit.
