Abstract

1,046,497. Flash gun mounting on cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Aug. 16, 1963 [Aug. 20, 1962], No.32444/63. Heading G2A. A photographic flash lamp holder comprising means for limiting the depth of insertion of a flash lamp base between its contacts and means for displacing one of the contacts downwards towards the other contact to cam an inserted flashlamp out of the holder. In the embodiment shown, the holder comprises a housing 25 divided into two compartments the bottom one of which (between plates 28, 29) holds the two batteries (not shown) and most of the circuit and the top one comprises a reflector 34 the base 37 of which comprise metal tabs 41 for limiting the extent to which a bulb 10 can be inserted between spring contacts 53, 48. Switch S, operated by means of the camera shutter is connected in series through contacts 66<SP>1</SP>, 66, strip 65, contact 64, both batteries (not shown), contact 62, contact 53, the bulb, contact 48, contacts 68, 68<SP>1</SP> in series. Contacts 62, 53, 48, 68 are formed on the same strips respectively. Strip 44 carrying contacts 53, 62 is movable downwards by means of an extension arm 81 into the dotted position in Fig. 2 to urge flash lamp 10 out the holder.
