Abstract
539,464. Watch cases. PIQUEREZ, E. March 18, 1940, Nos. 5032 and 5033. Convention dates, March 30, 1939 and May 30, 1939. [Class 139] In a water - tight watch case, a spring 15 presses a false bottom 14 against a seating 12 of the case-band 10, the seating 12 being provided with a packing 13 of slightly compressible material. The spring 15 has pressed-up, integral tongues 15<SP>1</SP> and is pressed against the false bottom 14 by a snap-on true bottom 16. The glass 11 is fixed water-tight in its bezel. In a modification, Fig. 3, the spring 15 is a split annular ring snapped into an inner undercut groove 17 of the caseband. In a further modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), a spring similar to that of Figs. 1 and 2 presses the packing ring against an inner ring of the case-band instead of against a shoulder of the case-band. In yet another modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the true bottom is screwed on to the movement ring or case-band.
