Abstract

538,984. Coated fabrics ; paper and like bags. RADO, L. Dec. 5, 1939, No. 31508. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1938. [Classes 96 and 140] [Also in Group XVII] Wrappers of paper, cellulose foils and metal foils coated with greasy substances such as paraffin wax are heat-sealed by applying an adhesive having a higher melting point than the wax and which fuses and becomes tacky on heating over the wax at least on the edges to be stuck and applying pressure and heat. A suitable adhesive is shellac solution to which nitro-cellulose, beeswax and colouring matter may be added. Adhesion is effected by pressing the edges with a heated tool, followed by cooling while maintaining the pressure.
