Abstract

538,064. Valve generating circuits. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. Jan. 25, 1940, No. 1557. Convention date, Feb. 16, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] A circuit for generating saw-tooth currents in an inductive load circuit having incidental capacity and resistance comprises a feed-back circuit having an auxiliary impedance network 19, having elements which are the inverse of the corresponding elements of the load circuit, the network being responsive (through condenser 17 and valve 16) to the conditions in the load circuit and in turn controlling the latter through condenser 20 and valve 11. The amplitude of the currents generated may be adjusted by varying resistance 13 in a circuit 13, 14 of large time constant. The frequency of the currents may be controlled by varying a resistance 18a in a circuit 18a, 18b across which is connected the control circuit of valve 16. A small adjustable resistance 15 provides a negative feed back to the grid of valve 11 to compensate for non-linearity due to decrease in the rate of rise of current in the inductance 10 during the latter part of the tracing period. Specifications 401,990 and 522,637 are referred to.
