Abstract
537,301. Sirens: valves. KOCKUMS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS AKTIEBOLAG. Dec. 15, 1939, No. 32315. Convention date, Dec. 30, 1938. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVIII] The supply of fluid to a siren is controlled by a valve 7 which is opened and closed by the action of a cam 26 formed on a reciprocating rod 2 co-operating with a roller 25. The latter is carried by a lever 22 which is pivoted at 23 to a fixed support 24 and is connected to the valve rod 20. As shown, the rod 2 forms the piston rod of a hand operated compressor the piston of which is double acting which supplies compressed air to a chamber 6. The valve 7 controls the flow of air from the chamber 6 to a duct 21 leading to the siren. The cam 26 may be shaped so as to give a definite signal. The rod 2 may have a series of cams 26 round its perimeter. In such a case it is rotated to bring the cam 26 desired into register with the roller 25, such cam being indicated by a finger 28. The construction may be amended so that the roller 25 will actuate the valve 7 only during movement of the piston rod 2 in one direction.
