536,888. Multiplex telegraphy. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., LtcL Nov. 29, 1939, No. 31100. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1938. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] In a distributer multiplex telegraph receiving system utilizing in each channel a pair of " flipflop " valves 16, 17, the latter are coupled resistively with the coupling valve 6. The signals received on aerial 1 are amplified and detected at 2, converted at 3 into tone signals for transmission over land line 4, amplified and rectified at 5, the negative pulses of the rectified signal passing through a low-pass filter 9 to the grid of valve 6. The anode of valve 6 is connected through resistance 11 to positive potential and through resistances 8, 15 to negative, the valves 16, 17 being connected by the distributer 12 to the junction of resistances 8, 15, this junction point being negative or positive according to whether the valve 6 is passing current or not.
