Abstract

694,991. Radio transmitting and receiving systems. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Jan. 24, 1952 [May 10, 1951], No. 11074/51. Class 40 (v). The voltage developed across the grid leak 4 of the last valve of a transmitter is fed through low-pass filter 6, 7, 11, 12, 13 and rectifier 8 to the A.G.C. line of the associated receiver to disable the latter when said voltage exceeds the receiver A.G.C. voltage. The A.G.C. voltage which is derived from circuit 5, 15 ... 19, is fed to the A.G.C. line through low-pass filter 10, 14 and rectifier 9. Rectifiers 8, 9 are poled so that one is cut off when the other is conducting. If the backward resistance of the rectifiers is very high, a further leak resistance 20 is connected between their junction and earth. If the required disabling voltage is low, rectifier 8 may be replaced by a resistance of two to three times the backward resistance of rectifier 9.
