Abstract
536,853. Current collectors for electric vehicles. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. March 1, 1940, No. 3873. Convention date, [March 4, 1939. [Class 104 (iii)] A current collector comprises one or two elongated slider shoes 10 transverse to the direction of travel, and carried by a pantograph &c. 12 in movable relation thereto through means located at each end of the shoe, these means being connected to maintain equal pressure on the shoe at each end. The pantograph heads 22 24 may be connected to the shoes through pin- and-slot 26, 28 a pair of U-shaped members 18, 20 and a pair of levers 38 pivoted on a pin 42 connecting 18 and 20. The other arms 40 of the levers are connected by linkwork 64, 66, so that they move together and upward thrust by the levers on the shoes is maintained by spring rods 54.
