Abstract

536,593. Soot-blowers. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd., and GLINN, R. J. Nov. 18, 1939, No. 30347. [Class 99(ii)] The cleaning-fluid is supplied to a rotary manifold 4 formed with tubular arms 2, 3 extending at opposite sides thereof and arranged to rotate in the spaces between the tubes 6 to be cleared, the fluid emerging from holes 5 provided along and at the ends of the arms 2. 3. The arms 2,3 may be placed opposite one another as shown, or they may be staggered. The manifold 4 may be supported by plates 31, 32 bolted to the tubes 6. The arms 2, 3 may also exert a cleaning action by engaging the tubes 6 so as to dislodge material deposited thereon.
