444,890. Feedwater heaters &c. TANSLEY, G. E., Economiser Works, Calder Vale Road, Wakefield. Sept. 25, 1934, No. 27484. [Class 64 (i)] [See also Group XXVIII] Flue gases are deflected on to the gills of the tubes of feedwater heaters &c., by wavy strips 3 suspended between the gills. In a modification, the strips are flat and provided with deflecting tongues 3a, Figs. 4, 5. By manipulation of the strips, the tongues may be used to remove soot from the gills.
