Abstract
534,776. Storage bins. BENNETT, J. G., and C.U.R.A. PATENTS, Ltd. Sept. 15, 1939, No. 25957. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XXX] Means for transporting, measuring, and delivering solid fuel to gas producers on motor vehicles comprises a container 12 having a mouth 13 at one end adapted to be closed by a sealing cap during transport, and to be attached to a delivery hose 26 during delivery, the container having stout handles 15 at opposite sides adapted to enter channels in side supports 16 of a gallows frame where it is suspended in inverted position from a weighing device 23. A winch is provided on the gallows for raising and lowering the container. For large containers the handles 15 are provided with trunnions about which the container is inverted and more than one mouth is provided for discharge. During filling the container may be vibrated and may be mounted on a weighbridge whereby the weight of fuel dispatched from the colliery is ascertained.
