Abstract
679,981. Loading and unloading vehicles; skips; tipping. ETUDES ET TECHNIQUES NOUVELLES. Jan. 19, 1950. [Feb. 5, 1949] No. 1420/50. Class 78 (iv). The end walls of a container 1 for the transport in bulk of powdered or granular material are funnel shaped and are provided with apertures sealed by doors 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> which form watertiglt closures. The container is made of welded sheet and has wooden cross-bars 4. 5 secured to its underside. The sides and top are strengthed by channel irons 0, 7 welded or riveted thereto to which are attached rings 8, 9 for lifting or securing. A container 10 may he supported on the container 1 and positioned by the insertion of its wooden cross-bars 11, 12 in the channel irons 6 . 7. The doors may be arranged obliquely to the Longitudinal axis of the container as in Figs. 3 and 4, instead of perpendicular thereto and the container may be secured to a piloted platform 19 on a lorry or railway truck, which platform is tilted by a jack 20. The container may be mounted on a truck 22, Fig. 4, which is hauled by a winch, &c., up an incline to the filling or discharging point.
