533,954. Glass manufacture. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. (Ferguson, J.). July 21, 1939, No. 21229. [Class 56] A glass-making batch composed of silica and glass-forming oxides, as described in Specification 533,956, is melted by supplying electric energy which is transformed into heat within the body of the melted material. A suitable furnace is described in Specification 533,977, [Group XI].
