Abstract

536,858. Cathode-ray tubes. PILKINGTON BROS., Ltd. April 2, 1940, No. 5896. Convention date, April 19, 1939. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXIII] A cathode-ray tube comprises two portions made by different glass-forming processes and united by fusion, one or both of the portions being of tempered glass. The conical body 12 may be made by blowing, while the saucershaped end 11 may be pressed and then tempered. The two parts are united on a glassblowing lathe [see Group XXIII].
