Abstract

533,541. Wall and ceiling coverings. HAY. H. M. Oct. 20, 1939, No. 28313. [Class 20 (iv)] Covering boards d for walls and ceilings are supported on the flanges of a lath c having a flanged or bead-headed web adapted to be engaged by the contracted mouthed slot b<SP>1</SP> of a hanger b by which it is supported from a frame member a. The boards may be pressed on to the flanges by clamps e, Fig. 3, slidably engaging the lath and the edges of the board also by means of of a contracted mouthed slot e'. The sides of the clamp and also of the hanger may be resilient and the bead of the lath may be rounded or triangular in section. The hanger may be positioned on the lath by a stop with a screw adapted to secure the lath and stop together. The lath may be of Z-formation as shown in Fig. 12 and a resilient clamp n<SP>1</SP> may be secured directly to it; the edges of the boards being supported by nails or screws n. The hangers may be formed in two adjustable parts. At positions where joints occur in laths, enclosing sleeves are used to surround the ends of the laths, and the hangers support the sleeves.
