Abstract
532,859. Kettles &c. HELPS, G. Sept. 23, 1939, Nos. 26513 and 26708. [Class 66] The sides of kettles saucepans &c. are surrounded by flexible jackets of corrugated belt-like form consisting of a number of separate sections having the edges formed for instance as shown in Fig. 4, to interlock with those of adjacent sections The jackets preferably project below the bottoms of the vessels, and may comprise bridge pieces 3, Fig. 3, bearing handles 7, or the parts 3 may be shaped to clear the existing handles on the vessels. The overlapping end sections of the jacket may be secured together by rivets, or a surrounding band the ends of which are suitably drawn together may be employed to retain the jacket in place. The jacket may be applied to vessels of circular, square, triangular or other section. To facilitate the use of the vessels on hot plates, false bottoms or frames with upstanding pins 22, Fig. 16, engaging in the corrugations may be provided.
