479,168. Enamelled sheet - metal cooking &c. vessels. STEVENS, E., and STEVENS, Ltd., E. March 11, 1937. No. 7143. [Class 66] Enamelled sheet-metal heating or cooking vessels are provided with means to minimize upward bending of the flat-bottoms under the action of heat. In the bottom shown, which is surrounded by a peripheral channel c which may be provided with wear-resisting strips h, the reinforcing means consists of one or more trough-shaped members d attached to the bottom by flanges e and having the ends abutting against the channel. Alternatively a bar or tube secured in position spaced below the bottom by rivets or other atachment means may be provided. In the case of a bottom unprovided with a channel, solid or tubular. reinforcing members arranged in parallel or radiating fashion may be welded or riveted to the underside of the bottom. Specifications 869/01, 5263/13, and 122,441, [all in Class 66], are referred to.
