[Class 140] [Also in Group XXIII] Laminated sheets comprise a layer 9 shaped to form a series of cells with an adjacent layer 7 and one of the layers is made of a compressed laminated material comprising wood or other fibrous laminae united by adhesive and densified under high pressure. The layer 9 may be formed with U or flattened V- shaped corrugations. Alternatively a series of individual ribs of solid or hollow form may be used as the intermediate layer. The fibres of the corrugated layer may be arranged at an angle to the direction of the corrugations, and metal facings may be employed. The sheet may be shaped to any desired form before or after fabrication. Several sheets may be united by bars acting as dowels entering opposite cells of the corrugated layers or a lap joint may be employed. Specification 493,145, [Group XXXIII, is referred to.
