Abstract
531,860. Stop - mechanism. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DE MECANIQUE HORLOGERE. Aug. 4, 1939, No. 22631. Convention date, Aug. 11, 1938. [Class 139] Comprises a clockwork apparatus characterized by a device for effecting in one position the stoppage of the clockwork movement and the return to zero of the seconds hand, and effecting in another position the instantaneous release of the clockwork movement. The seconds hand 10 is mounted on the axis 9 of gears 6, 7 with a certain friction and is rigid with a heart-cam 11. A restoring lever 12 urged by spring 13 in the direction f, is pivoted at 14 and provided with sloping surfaces 15 1 , 15 2 the nose 15 3 entering the depression 11, of the cam when the latter is in zero position. The lever 12 is fitted with a blade spring 16 and a hook 21. When the lever 12 is moved in the direction f 2 to the position shown in dotted lines, the spring 16 engages and arrests the balance wheel 17 and the hook 21 is held by a spring latch 22, and the seconds hand is zeroized by the surfaces 15 1 , 15 2 , To use tne device it is brought to this position and the minute and hour hands set to the hour at which it is desired to start by pushing in a knob against a spring to engage a pinion with the pinion on the axis of the minute hand. The knob 23 is then depressed to release the hook 21 whereupon the lever 12 springs back and releases the balance wheel giving it a starting flick. The nose on the lever 12 may be formed on a part slotted from the lever 12 and connected at one end to be springy. It may be formed on a separate piece held to the lever 12 by a spring. Instead of the lever 12 protruding, it may be arranged inside the case and actuated by a second lever. Instead of the push 23 release may be effected from a distance by arranging a solenoid to pull down spring 22. In a further modification, the lever 12 is actuated by a lever the start arm of which engages a cam on the lever 12 which in this form has an eye at the end engaged by a bush on the end of spring 22.
