Abstract
530,896. Rotary tables RICHARDS & CO., Ltd., G. and INGHAM, A. E. July 5, 1939, No. 19547. [Class 83 (iii)] The revolving table b of a machine such as a boring and facing machine is clamped in the working position on the lower table a with a face of the work square to the spindle axis, by means of a bar f having a hooked end g for engaging the table b and given an oscillating and axial movement by a handle h. A plate d is adjustably located in one of the T-slots a<SP>1</SP> of the lower table by means of a screw d' in a bracket c attached to the table, and carries a pivot e supporting the bar f. The handle h screws upon the end of the bar f and carries a cam i engaging a pin j fixed to the bracket c so that for clamping the table b, rotation of the handle will cause the screwed end of the bar f to be depressed by the cam, thus raising the hooked end into contact with the table. Further rotation of the handle will draw the hooked end firmly against the table to clamp it in working position against a gauge block k, whilst reverse rotation will cause the hooked end g of the bar f to be lowered and the clamp released so that the table b may be rotated.
