[Class 44] A fastening for a vehicle hood comprises a plate 1 mounted on a fixed rail 2 and having a horizontal striker surface 7a with cam ends 7b adapted to be engaged by the cam head 12a of a lever 12 pivoted at 13 on a bracket 3 bolted to a plate 8 mounted on the rail 4 of the hood. The cam surfaces draw the hood down on the rail 2 and press the plate 1 away from the bracket 3. Specifications 501,078, [Group XXXII], and 501,079, [Group XL], are referred to.
