Abstract

458,873. Vehicle hoods. NEALE, A. P., Waldo Works, Waldo Road, Willesden, London. Sept. 27, 1935, No. 26738. [Class 108 (i)] A folding or collapsable hood is secured to the windscreen by a hooked bolt carried by and movable relatively to one of the members, the bolt being arranged to move in a plane inclined relatively to the fixed member whereby on retraction of the hook bolt the hood member is drawn downwardly and forwardly into contact with the fixed member. The canopy rail a is provided with a bracket plate c in which a recessed and slotted block d. is secured. A bolt e is located in the slot d<1> of the bracket d and at its inner end is pivoted at f to a lever f having a cam head f<2>. The other end of the bolt e is provided with a hook e<1> adapted to engage an eye b<1> in a plate b carried by or forming part of the windscreen. The hook e<1> of the bolt e is adapted to engage the eye b<1> and on turning the lever f the bolt e is drawn rearwardly by means of the cam head f<2> bearing on the face of the bracket d. This causes the canopy rail to be drawn forwards and clamped against the plate b and upstanding flange b<2> with weather strip b<3>. A spring g with loop portions g<2>, g3 adapted to coact with the stud f<3> in the cam head f<z> secures the cam head in its limiting positions.
