[Class 139] A synchronous-motor electric clock has transmission mechanism in which worm reduction gearing 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 transmits the movement of rotor 9 to a main driving wheel 15 loose on the minute hand spindle 16; reduction gear wheels 15, 17, 18, 21, 23 mounted on spindle 16 and an adjacent parallel arbor 19 drive the spindle 16 through a clutch 22 (a leaf spring pressing wheels 21 and 23 together) ; and other wheels 23, 24, 25, 26 on spindle 16 and arbor 19 gear the minute hand spindle 16 to a concentric hour hand sleeve 27. Arbor 19 has attached to it the seconds hand or may drive a device to indicate that the clock is going.
